Dumfries & Galloway Butterfly Group
Significant changes are afoot in the organisation of Butterfly Conservation's local branch. Until now, Dumfries and Galloway's has fallen within the South-West Scotland branch, which covers a mind-bogglingly large area including Ayrshire, Glasgow, Stirlingshire and Argyll. To provide a more local focus for events, field trips, surveys and other activities the SW Scotland branch will soon be devolved into smaller sub-branches, one of which will cover Dumfries and Galloway. To make this work it needs the support of interested local butterfly watchers. So if you would like to find out about, and get involved with, the new local butterfly group please contact Richard Eagles and Susan Woods on 01387 730301 or email at speckledwood09@btinternet.com. What's more, there's no requirement to be a member of Butterfly Conservation to get involved!
